Medihub Co., Ltd participated in ‘34th Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES 2018)’ at COEX from March 15 to 18 and showcased a ‘i-JECT’ and ‘i-JECT Pro’.

MediHub is a specialised company that is developing and manufacturing automated syringes for the purpose of preventing the abuse of drugs, targeting the development of global standards medical devices.

They recently conducted a joint research and succeed in developing an automated syringe for topical use ‘i-JECT’ and local use ‘i-JECT Pro’ with the R&D platform of Seoul National University’s dental hospital and will release in the second half of 2018.

‘i-JECT’ is an automated syringe for topical drug (anaesthesia liquid) that can be used extensively in the medical field where topical anaesthesia is conducted such as dental clinics, plastic surgery clinics, and dermatologists.

A function of quantitative, a fixed speed, and automatic infusion can prevent pain relief and drug abuse in patients, and ergonomics design and lightening enable the hands to relieve fatigue since they are about 25 percent lighter than other patients. With its ease of operation, it is also characterized by removable battery, and choice of ample cap for sterilization and general use.

‘i-JECT Pro’ is a drug injector that automatically injects large amounts of anaesthesia liquid with a quantitative and constant speed. Through a function of ASP(Aspiration), its features include providing intravascular drug-injection pre-check and prevention neurological damage that provides safety alarm when approaching 15PSI.

In developed countries, it is suitable for this trend as the number of medical procedures for topical (local) anaesthesia procedures is increasing in order to reduce the medical accident due to general anaesthesia and the aftereffect.

HyunChul Yeom, CEO of MediHub said: “Now, we have completed the development of i-JECT’ and ‘i-JECT Pro’ and are about to produce. The goal is to make inroads into the local market in the second half of this year and into overseas markets in the second half of next year.”

On the other hand, KIMES is Korea’s largest medical equipment and hospital facility exhibition which has grown steadily with the development of the Korean medical industry since its opening in 1980. The nation`s medical industry is now transformed into a technology-intensive high-tech industry, with medical information systems, ultrasound detectors and imaging medical devices, robotic medicine, AI and rehabilitation drugs. As KIMES contributes to the advancement of the Korean medical industry, it has become a world-class medical exhibition. At this exhibition, the participants will showcase new technologies and products from the medical industry, including high-tech hospital facilities, IT-enabled medical information systems, and the automotive industry for rapid patient transportation.
