Jeonju IT&CT Industry Promotion Agency (JICA) participated in the world’s largest IT and electronics exhibition CES 2020 held in Las Vegas January 7 to 10.
JICA supports local start-up companies and is working on developing advanced information and communication technology (ICT) and contents industry together. Its main project is smart cities. JICA is building a smart city where people can enjoy a convenient and happy life by having the citizens take the lead in solving the city problems.
The official said, “We participated in CES 2020 to apply advanced technologies to the smart city project in Jeonju city in line with the new industrial movement.”
JICA presented the digital twin-based spatial information as the outcome of the smart city industry that embodies the real world together with LX and Hancom group. They built a 4km x 4km pilot digital twin smart city around Jeonju and Gochang. They are planning to build the entire Gochang city as a digital space by next year.
The official said, “Naver recently decided to participate in Jeonju smart city project with its business platform. We will make efforts to create an ecosystem where influential central corporations and local industries work together. In CES, we would like to meet partners who can cooperate with us and make performance together.”
The world’s largest IT show CES shows the trend of the global consumer electronics industry at a glance. It is hosted by Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and is held every January.
