AVING News interviewed Mun Deok-ju, the CEO of Tealink, which participated in the MIK HOT SPOT (Made in Korea Online Exhibition) Seoul Food Startup Center.
Please introduce your company and products.
Hi. This is Mun Deok-ju, the CEO of Tealink, with the mission to “connect tea and people.” Tealink is a startup created in 2020 with the philosophy of “continuing the value of drinking.”
The Tealink products, Kkuljam Tea and Lady’s Tea, are herb blended teas. Kkuljam Tea is recommended for those who cannot sleep well. It is the herb blended tea designed to help you feel comfortable and sleep comfortably after drinking. Lady’s Tea is good for women to drink for premenstrual syndrome, helping them feel comfortable.
How did you start your business?
Prior to this business, I was a tea expert who studied about tea, and worked as a freelance instructor, informing about tea to people. At that time, a lot of young people who just entered the labor market asked about whether there was tea they can drink before going to bed because they had bad PMSs.
The herb blended tea that I made at that time worked, so I thought I’ll give it a try and make tea for sales. When I won the award at the Blending Tea Competition held in Korea, I started the herb blended tea business because I felt that I was competent enough to open up a business and it had business potential.
What are your future plans?
The development of Tealink’s business will be made by building many lifestyle consensus that herb blended tea can be drunk in place of tea, and that tea is good for skin. Also, Korea is one of the major tea producing areas like China, India and Sri Lanka. So, we are planning to make products made of green tea, black tea, and Korean tea by production areas. We are planning to provide a tea lifestyle with the theme of drinking, applying, and breathing so that I can have the life of tea, the life that I can enjoy with leisure, and a better life overall. I have a desire to show a little more life that you can drink while enjoying the atmosphere decorated with natural aroma oils and natural incense sticks that is not the work of the herb blending team. I hope more people try the eco-friendly tea drink and make a healthy life to show more love to themselves.
