IT wearable device startup, UFirst Inc. (CEO Hyunsang Lee), conducted a delivery ceremony for ‘NUGUNA Neckband’, the wearable assistance device for the hearing-impaired, on October 30th (Wed), at the Guro-gu Branch of the Korea Association of the Deaf.
This delivery ceremony was arranged as a part of the Good Imagination through ICT Project by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Korea Information Society Agency, Guro-gu, Guro-gu Branch of the Korea Association of the Deaf, and UFirst. It was used to supply ‘NUGUNA Neckbands’, so that the quality of life for the hearing impaired may be improved.
CEO Hyunsang Lee of UFirst said, “This is the first time we have launched in the domestic market, and we want to develop the product by receiving various feedbacks,” and revealed, “We are currently cooperating with buyers from the National Association of the Deaf (USA) and the Australian Association of the Deaf, and we hope the positive reception we’ve had can serve as the platform for expansion into the overseas market,”.
Guro-gu Smart City Team Manager, Sungho Kim, said, “In addition to the delivery ceremony, we have already secured a budget for next year to expand the supply business for the hearing impaired,” and conveyed that, “We hope the Neckband delivery ceremony can serve as a starting point for similar businesses to expand into the whole local government”.

Guro-gu Sign Language Translation Center Manager, Sangwon Park, who had received and used the product for 2 weeks has said, “I am grateful that the neckband was developed and supplied,” and continued on to say, “Using it myself, I feel safer with it because the vibration comes from the direction of external sounds, and protects me from harm,”.
