Hosted by MOTIE, LED Industry Forum and KOTRA and organized by EXPOnU, LED & OLED EXPO 2019, combined with PHOTONICS + LASER EXPO, grand opened on June 25 at KINTEX.
Around 100 guests from Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs, and Startups Committee, MOTIE, Bucheon-si, Korea Energy Agency, KOTRA, LED Industry Forum, KOPTI, Korea Institute of Lighting & ICT, Bucheon Industry Promotion Agency, Seoul Semiconductor, CTGen and Japan LED Association attended the show.
Choi Nam-ho, Manufacturing Industry Policy Officer of MOTIE, said in the congratulatory remarks, “The photonics industry is getting ready to make another leap towards photonics convergence industry through the convergence with other industries along with the development of new technologies including IoT, big data and AI.”
In its 17th year, LED & OLED Expo has integrated with PHOTONICS+LASER EXPO and opened as the International Photonics Convergence Expo, covering optic communication and equipment, laser-related lighting, equipment, parts, materials and convergence. A total of 250 companies from 13 countries exhibited in 600 booth scale.
With the mission to identify the current status of the photonics industry including LED, OLED, optical communication and laser business and acquire the global competitiveness, this show is expected to be a festival of diversity with export consultation with overseas buyers, LED industry forum, and public officer’s seminar to supply smart lighting.
This year, many domestic and overseas companies including Seoul Semiconductor, Lumens, Yuyang DNU, Clarus Korea, Techen, GEO Lighting, Rica Holdings, EVERFINE, SUNPULED, SAES GROUP and Violumas joined and exhibited their products at the show.
Also, by composing the exhibition hall, the achievements of R&D from institutions and participating companies were shown, and the participating project is called “OLED lighting industry cluster creation project”, with Bucheon-si, smart energy lighting convergence mini cluster, and smart LED lighting involved in it.
